The main objective of this course is to understand the fundamental statics and advanced theories on the mechanics of materials. The basic principles of stress and strain, as well as the mechanical properties of materials will be introduced throughout the course.
CEE3303 Mechanics of materials
The main objective of this course is to understand the advanced theories on mechanics of materials. The basic principles on the stress and strain of materials as well as other important behaviors including deflections of beams and buckling of columns will be introduced throughout the course. This course is designed for sophomore students in Civil and Environmental Engineering.
CEE3413 Structural vibration and earthquake engineering
The main objective of this course is to understand the theories on structural dynamics and earthquake engineering. Equations of motion for single and multi-degree of freedom systems, and dynamic responses of structures due to various dynamic loadings are discussed. The basic knowledge of structural analysis and the ability to apply the concept to seismic design can be achieved throughout the course.
